Family Resource Program
The Family Resource Program is designed to strengthen and support families by providing comprehensive services that promote educational success, emotional well-being, and active parent engagement. This program serves as a bridge between home, school, and community, offering wraparound support to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.
Key Components:
Adult Education for Parents Offering classes in English language learning to increase parents’ capacity to support their children’s education and development. Learning English helps migrants navigate daily life—whether it’s communicating with doctors, teachers, employers, or neighbors. Stronger language skills reduce isolation and build confidence in social and professional settings.
Mental Health Support for Students Providing on-site mental health services to help students manage stress, trauma, and behavioral challenges—ensuring they are emotionally equipped to succeed in school and life.
Volunteer Coordination Engaging and organizing community volunteers to support academic and enrichment activities, fostering a culture of collaboration and shared responsibility.
School Liaison Services Serving as a critical link between schools and families, especially in advocating for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The program helps parents understand their rights, navigate school systems, and actively participate in educational planning for their children.
The purpose of the Family Resource Program is to remove barriers that hinder student success by supporting the entire family unit. By fostering strong home-school partnerships, increasing access to essential services, and promoting parent involvement, the program creates a holistic support system that uplifts children and empowers families to thrive.
Improved Student Academic and Emotional Outcomes Students whose families receive support through the program are more likely to attend school consistently, show academic growth, and exhibit improved behavior and emotional regulation.
Increased Parent Engagement Parents gain the language, knowledge, and confidence to actively support their children’s education, communicate with teachers, and participate in school-related decisions.
Stronger Home-School Relationships With the help of school liaisons, families become trusted partners in their child’s education, particularly in navigating IEP meetings and understanding school processes.
Reduced Barriers to Accessing Services Families are connected to needed resources—such as mental health, adult education, and volunteer opportunities—that they might otherwise be unaware of or unable to access.
Community Empowerment Through volunteerism and family participation, the program promotes a strong sense of community ownership and collective investment in student success.
● Greater Equity for Migrant and Underserved Families By focusing on the unique needs of migrant families, the program works to reduce disparities and ensure all children have the support they need to thrive both academically and personally.
