Out-of-School Educational Enrichment Program

The Out-of-School Educational Enrichment Program is a targeted academic support initiative designed to address the learning needs of students from predominantly migrant and low-income families in underserved communities. The program operates during out-of-school hours and offers comprehensive services, including:

● Homework assistance

● Speech therapy

● Reading intervention and literacy tutoring

● Math support and skill-building

All services are delivered by trained professionals and volunteers in a culturally responsive environment, with the goal of closing learning gaps and supporting whole-child development.

The purpose of this program is to improve academic outcomes and educational equity for high-need students who face systemic barriers to learning. Many participants are English language learners, live in households with limited educational resources, and struggle with learning delays or language development challenges. This program aims to:

  • Reinforce grade-level academic content
  • Strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy skills
  • Support language development through speech and reading services
  • Reduce learning disparities caused by poverty, mobility, or language barriers
  • Provide a safe and supportive space for academic and personal growth

Increased Academic Achievement: Students receive individualized instruction that helps improve test scores, reading fluency, comprehension, and math proficiency.

Improved English Language Skills: Access to speech therapy and literacy support enhances communication and classroom engagement for English learners.

Greater School Engagement: Students develop confidence, study skills, and a stronger connection to their learning environment, leading to better attendance and classroom participation.

Family Empowerment: The program indirectly supports families by providing academic resources that many parents—particularly those with language or literacy barriers—cannot provide on their own.

Positive Youth Development: A structured, nurturing setting during critical after-school hours reduces risk factors and supports the emotional and social well-being of participating youth.
