The Teen Empowerment & Career Pathways Program is an out-of-school initiative designed to equip high school students—particularly those from migrant and underserved communities—with the essential tools, experiences, and mentorship needed to succeed in the workforce and beyond. The program provides hands-on opportunities in:
- Soft Skills & Career Readiness Training Youth develop essential behavioral and communication skills that are critical for workplace success, such as time management, teamwork, adaptability, and professional etiquette.
- Entrepreneurship Education Students explore business fundamentals, develop creative thinking, and learn how to build and pitch a business idea that solves real-world problems.
- Paid Internships Through local partnerships, students gain real-world work experience that aligns with their interests and future goals, while earning income and building professional networks.
- Mentorship Programs Each student is paired with a caring adult or professional mentor who provides guidance, encouragement, and support in academic, career, and personal development.
The purpose of this program is to close opportunity gaps by preparing underrepresented teens for the realities of the modern workforce and empowering them to become confident, self-sufficient contributors to their communities. By focusing on career readiness, entrepreneurship, and mentorship, the program helps youth build a future rooted in purpose, resilience, and economic mobility.
Workplace-Ready Youth Teens gain soft skills and career exposure that set them apart in job interviews, internships, and post-secondary education or training programs.
Increased Economic Mobility Through internships and financial literacy components, students learn to earn, manage, and value their income and opportunities.
Confidence and Leadership Development Youth who may lack professional role models develop a growth mindset and the confidence to take initiative and lead.
Increased College & Career Awareness Students gain a clearer understanding of post-secondary options and the steps needed to pursue career pathways in high-demand industries.
Entrepreneurial Thinking By developing and presenting their own business ideas, teens learn to think critically, solve problems creatively, and understand real-world economics.
